John Lesko is an experienced addiction counselor, recovery coach, treatment planner,
and interventionist who brings a deep personal and professional commitment to the
transformative power of recovery. A former trial attorney who struggled with a
debilitating addiction while practicing law, John cherishes his own experience with long-
term recovery and knows firsthand that recovery is not only possible — it’s life-
changing.
Since 2008, John has dedicated his career to helping others find their way out of
addiction with dignity, purpose, and minimal disruption to their lives. He has worked with
more than 1,000 individuals—primarily physicians, lawyers, other licensed
professionals, and students at the collegiate and post-graduate levels —guiding them
through personalized recovery strategies tailored to protect and support their careers,
education, and families.
With extensive experience monitoring recovering professionals, John is adept at
creating accountability structures and treatment plans that work in real life. His
approach emphasizes compassionate, evidence-informed care while reducing
unnecessary time in treatment settings. Whether leading interventions, coaching clients
through critical decisions, or supporting long-term recovery maintenance, John brings
insight, empathy, and unwavering belief in each person’s ability to heal and thrive.
John is accredited as an Internationally Credentialed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a
Certified Addiction Professional, and a Certified Criminal Justice Addiction Professional.
His professional experience in the recovery field includes roles as National Manager of
Professionals’ Treatment at the University of Florida Health/Florida Recovery Center,
Director of Professionals’ Treatment at BoardPrep Recovery Center, and Outreach and
Interventions Coordinator for Florida Lawyers Assistance, Inc.
